Leawood Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Marc 27.
Debris pick-up began on Monday, January 28th, 2019, and was completed within 52 calendar days. During the two months of pickup, Public Works and Parks crews had to work in sub-zero temperatures and through several major snow events. Each snow event required the crews to ready the trucks that were being used for debris pick-up with plows and salt spreaders the day prior to the storm event and then remove the plows and salt spreaders the day after the storm event to reconfigure the trucks for debris pick-up. The City had approximately 800 dump loads of debris and a collection span of 208 center lane miles. The City spent approximately $145,000 in contractors and debris dumping fees; that amount does not include staff time or fuel and maintenance of the dump trucks.
