Graduates earn 3,283 degrees, certificates from Wichita State University


About 17.1 percent of the 3,283 degrees and certificates handed out by Wichita State University in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Wichita conferred 405 bachelor's degrees and 78 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 188 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 130 bachelor's degrees in general studies and 113 bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering.

The university enrolled 15,075 students for 2017-18, including 12,398 in undergraduate programs and 2,677 in graduate programs.
